Yuraygir National Park's remote 4WD tracks connect Wooli to Sandon and Pebbly Beach through candlebark forest and heathland, opening up one of the largest stretches of undeveloped coastline in NSW. Illaroo... campground, tucked among trees a short walk from the beach, makes a good base for exploring the tracks or continuing on foot along the coastal walk.

Stretching around 6.6 kilometres from the river breakwall north to Wilsons Headland, Wooli Beach is the town's main stretch of sand for surfing, swimming and fishing. The southern end near the breakwall... produces reliable surf breaks year-round, while a patrolled section in summer makes it family-friendly, and beach 4WD access is available via permit.

Operating in the Solitary Islands Marine Park, this local dive outfit takes visitors snorkelling and scuba diving among tropical and subtropical reef fish and hard coral gardens just offshore from Wooli.... Between May and November the same waters host migrating humpback whales, and the centre runs seasonal whale-watching trips alongside its dive and snorkel charters.

Part of the longest stretch of undeveloped coastline in NSW, this multi-day trail winds 65 kilometres between Angourie and Red Rock through Yuraygir National Park, passing directly by Wooli. Walkers cross... striking headlands, isolated beaches and coastal heath, with chances to spot whales, dolphins and native wildlife along the way. Sections can be tackled as day walks or the full route as a four-day hike.
